At the heart of Growth Space Co is our Trainee Counselling Clinic.
This is a nurturing and grounded space where people aged 16+ can access high quality and affordable counselling support that meets you where you’re at. Our welcoming and inclusive counselling clinic offers face-to-face counselling sessions in Brunswick or via Telehealth.
Our mission is simple: to make counselling accessible to everyone, while nurturing genuine relationships and a sense of belonging with each person who walks through our doors.
Our Trainee’s bring fresh perspectives, deep empathy, and the most uptodate therapeutic approaches, at an affordable price that makes getting support genuinely possible.
Whether you’re navigating change in life, rebuilding resilience, or simply wanting to feel seen and understood, our amazing master’s level counselling students are here to help you re- connect, find clarity and thrive in your own way!
Counselling is a collaborative process and at Growth Space Co, our trainee’s work with individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe, non- judgemental and empowering way.
Counsellors don’t give advice but rather focus on helping their clients find clarity and reconnect with their inner guidance through self-reflection, awareness and feeling seen and understood as they grow.
Working with a counsellor can reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation and allow a person to feel supported as they learn about themselves and take positive steps towards the change they seek.

Below are some of the areas we work with in our counselling clinic:

Navigating change and life transitions

Reclaiming your inner strength and resilience

Healing through grief and loss

MEET THE FOUNDER
Laura Luca Founder Laura is the proud founder of Growth Space Co, a social worker, clinical supervisor, and devoted dog lover. Over her 18 years in practice, she’s found her career sweet spot where her love for social work meets her passion for education and community.
Her experience spans leading large community development projects, managing neighbourhood houses in Melbourne’s West, offering counselling and case management grounded in strengths-based, client-centred practice, and overseeing a large placement department in collaboration with universities across Australia.
Today, Laura feels lucky to mentor and support hundreds of counselling and social work students as they discover their purpose and begin their professional journeys. Building community and connecting with nature have always been central to who she is, she finds joy outdoors, loves to read, write, create, and laugh as often as she can.
Guided throughout her life by inspiring mentors, counsellors, and supportive groups, Laura deeply believes in the power of community. She knows that with the right environment, wellness and thriving can truly take root.
With social isolation and loneliness on the rise, she founded Growth Space Co from the heart, a warm, welcoming community where trainee counsellors can connect meaningfully with their clients and with each other, and rediscover how simple, empowering, and joyful personal growth can be.

At Growth Space Co we are dedicated to reducing isolation by creating a sense of community within our counselling clinic. All our student counsellors and staff align with our shared vision of providing affordable, high-quality counselling that builds genuine and professional relationships with our clients.
We are guided by strong ethical practice frameworks, accreditation standards and integrity to provide genuine services within our scope of practice.
Our clinical supervisors have over 60 years professional experience collectively both as counsellors and social workers and bring a wealth of evidence based, trauma informed and client centre practice to our student counselling clinic. You are in safe hands.
